SUMMARY:Pathways to Action: Climate Conversations at the Local Level
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the current exhibition DM Witman: Ecologies of Restoration\, Pathways to Action includes opportunities to hear from experts whose work focuses on the human potential to act in the face of our changing climate\, and to learn how each of us can get involved with local climate-focused organizations. The evening will begin with lightning presentations by\, and conversation among\, artist DM Witman\, Dr. Lawrence McKenna (FSU Department Chair\, Environment\, Society\, & Sustainability)\, Dr. Vandana Singh (FSU Professor\, Environment\, Society\, & Sustainability)\, and Uli Lorimer (Native Plant Trust Director of Horticulture). Join us after the presentation for continued conversations with climate advocates and community leaders to ask questions and hear about opportunities to get involved with building a more resilient climate\, starting with your own community. \nThe intention of this program is to create an inclusive\, welcoming space to explore practical ways to tackle climate change. Several local and national organizations will be present and ready to offer ways for you to get involved in taking action. \nRefreshments will be served. \nThis event is FREE. Registration encouraged– https://danforthartmuseum.wildapricot.org/event-5979418
