SUMMARY:Home Landscapes: beyond decor to healthy habitat
DESCRIPTION:Our home landscapes can be beautiful and also serve as valuable parts of the ecosystem\, if we manage them with nature in mind. Native Plant Trust’s new CEO\, Tim Johnson\, recently used the phrase “bio-productive gardens” to describe home landscapes managed in a way “so that everything that flows through them\, from rainwater to birds\, leaves healthier than when it arrived.” So let’s have a conversation about what we can do in our home landscapes to benefit water\, insects\, birds\, and other biotic and abiotic components as we check out a local home that is on the path to being bio-productive. Share your own ideas and leave with more ideas about how you can transform your landscape on a budget to benefit the earth. \nIf you have time before the event\, take a listen a podcast featuring Tim Johnson and his idea of bio-productive gardens: https://awaytogarden.com/bio-productive-gardens-with-tim-johnson-of-native-plant-trust/ \nACCESS & ACCESSIBILITY: \n\nNot accessible to wheelchairs\n\nWEATHER: The event will be held rain or shine.
